This is an annual favorite ride. It starts with a ride to Vernonia for a quick stop and gas (If needed), then off we go over Hwy 47 to Hwy 202 into the coast range forest, coming out onto the back bay area of Astoria and a lunch stop at Fultano's Pizza. After lunch, we will go to the Chevron station in Astoria to fill up, and then across the Megler bridge to Washington. There we will ride through the southwest Washington forest along the Columbia with a comfort stop in Cathlamet.
This will be a Washington-side ride, going up back roads and smaller highways to Longview and crossing into Washington there, then going to Soltero's Mexican Restaurant for a delicious lunch break, after which we will head back to Paradise H-D. KSU will be 1030 and I expect to be back sometime between 1500-1600. The exact route is still TBD as I'm currently working on building it to fit the time frames and keep it fun.
Join me on the sweetest ride of the year...The Treasurer/Strawberry Shortcake Ride. This will be a new ride to a favorite destination. Plan on 100 miles and 3.0 hours of fun! The chapter is picking up the tab for the shortcake. Willamette Valley Pie Co also has lunch available for purchase. A short rest stop will be made in Silverton.
This is a destination ride. If you would like an escort back to PHD, a group will be heading back that way.
If you have any questions, please contact me, Valerie, at [email protected]
Day one will find us taking a relatively scenic route along US-12 to Kennewick, Wa. then ride up 395 into and through Spokane where we will get to our hotel. It will be an 8 hr ride with stops planned for breaks/food etc. Lunch will be along the way at a convenient spot.
Ride through and to spectacular landscapes. View Mt St. Helens, lakes, and rivers from an awesome vantage point. Take advantage of the opportunity to snap a picture of the wonderful landscape that people from around the world come to see. If you haven't visited the overlook and the glorious, peaceful surroundings, please join us for a fantastic ride. It's a favorite of mine and others. We are glad to share this experience with you.
We will head up over Mt Hood with a brief stop in Welches. From there, the group will stop for lunch in Maupin at The Riverside Restaurant along the Deschutes River. After lunch, we will travel down to Biggs Junction for a fuel stop, cross the river into Washington, and stop at the Stonehenge War Memorial for pictures.
The ride will end at the Stonehenge War Memorial. Members are free to make their way back individually or the Lead road captain will lead back to PHD.
This is a great ride we haven't done in a couple of years. We will visit 7 covered bridges in Marion and Linn Counties. The group will stop for pictures at each bridge. Lunch will be in Aumsville and we will take a group picture at the last bridge. Gallon Bridge is the oldest covered bridge in Oregon.
This will be an all-day ride that all skill levels can enjoy. There will be gas stops for those with small tanks.
