Mt. St. Helen's Ride
LRC:  Dan Schach
Arrive at Paradise:  9:00 am
KSU:  9:30 am
Date: 09/06/2020 - Sunday

Join us on a ride up the mountain to enjoy some fantastic views and a brown bag lunch at the Johnston Ridge Observatory!
Please plan on a short stop after we come over the bridge into Longview. Here, you will have an opportunity to get gas, pick up some lunch, and most importantly... use the restroom! Next stop - Mt. St. Helen's Observatory. We will have lunch and enjoy the amazing views of the mountain. There might be some foodcarts at the observatory but there are no guarantees. This is where the ride officially ends, however; there will be riders heading back to Paradise - I'm sure you would be welcome join them!

"Johnston Ridge Observatory is named for volcanologist David Johnston, who was camped at the site when Mount St. Helens erupted on May 18, 1980.  His final words – called in via shortwave radio – were, “Vancouver, Vancouver, this is it!” Johnston’s body has never been found."  (http://sthelenshero.homestead.com/DavidJohnston.html)
