This ride has changed slightly thanks to the generosity of the Coast Guard
We will leave PHD and ride out to Tongue Point and tour the facility there. From there, thanks to the Coast Guard, we will ride across the Astoria Bridge and get to Cape Disappointment where we have been offered a second tour. We will be having lunch somewhere either before or between the two tours. I was just riding this today and the roads are good, construction is minimal, and it will be fun.
Tomorrow is the actual Coast Guard anniversary and they are excited that people are interested in coming for a tour to learn more what they do in our area and met some of the Coasties.
The rides that we do for the individual military branches are to honor those who serve and have served in those branches. These rides are open to anyone in the Chapter and invited guests.
This ride is for all skill levels and within recommended speed for corners and speed limits.
If you want more practice with cornering then this is a great ride. We will be on farm roads, highway and in twisties with some city riding. There will be gas stops with an estimated 100 miles being the furthest between gas stops.
I hope to see you there.
