What you need to know before we ride
First off, just in case you don't know, all rides leave from Paradise HD and will return to Paradise HD, unless otherwise specified.
Second, we like to have riders arrive at our rides about 30 minutes before the actual ride begins for the following reasons:
| 1. |
Release forms need to be signed if you are not a member or you are a minor or for a minor riding with you. Click here to download the release form, print it out, and bring it with you to the ride to save yourself some time. You can't ride with us if we don't have these forms. No exceptions! |
| 2. |
This would be a good time to empty your bladder (preferably in the restroom). |
| 3. |
D'oh! Did you forget to fill your gas tank? There's a gas station just down the block from Paradise at the corner of Greenburg Rd. and Cascade. You do not want to be on a mystery ride (that would be any ride where you don't know the route) with a partially full gas tank worrying about when we're going to stop for gas! |
| 4. |
Road captains need a little time to check out your bike to make sure it's not leaking fluids, tires aren't bald, lights are all there, parts aren't falling off, it doesn't sound like it's going to explode, etc. |
| 5. |
Road captains want to spend a little time getting to know you. Have you been riding long? If you just got your bike a month ago and you haven't ridden anything with two wheels in a while, riding along twisty mountain roads with no guard rails at maximum speed might not be comfortable for you. Conversely, if you can make a U-turn inside a 20 ft. circle at 20mph you might want to ride near the front of a large group (after you show us). |
| 6. |
Pre-ride meeting. Do you want to know where we're going? Road captains will discuss the route, how we ride in a group, and take your questions. For everyone's safety, you must be present for the pre-ride meeting to ride with us. No exceptions! |
| 7. |
Finally, we need time to line up, get everyone assembled in the group by their skill level, and perform a departure drill to check the lights and horns on our bikes. |
This is why we ask everyone to show up 30 minutes before the ride leaves.
